The Thang

Led the PAX to the Shorewood village hall where we did a few exercises with our rucks led by Veteran F3 brothers. We then moved over to the Veteran Memorial where each Veteran F3 brother took a few minutes to share their service story with the PAX in attendance.

Our Veteran brothers present were: Hanger, Dauber, Flashbang, Blue Gill, Choo Choo, Dismissed, and YHC. We then followed this up by having each Veteran read the name from a brick in the memorial while all the PAX held plank, then we rucked back to TW.

Circle of Trust

During the CoT, shared my gratitude for what F3 has meant to me since retiring and reiterated the same message that most of our Veteran brothers shared at the memorial.

Having spent most of my adult life in the Army, I can’t stress enough how I truly felt disconnected from most people and corporate America after retiring in 2017. My assimilation to being a “civilian” has been disjointed, to say the least. It also led to a growing anger/resentment of the “fakeness” I felt from the general populous for not truly understanding what serving our country REALLY meant to me.

The good news, for me at least, is that being a part of F3 has helped bridge most of that gap.

What I experienced this morning was exactly what I needed – to be able to share a little bit of who we were with our fellow PAX and feel their genuine gratefulness for, not just our service, but for the men and women that continue to serve in a society that does seem to be drifting further away from understanding, or caring about, what it means to serve.

Have a great day men and thanks for reading! 🇺🇸
