Introduction

I was very thankful Quatro allowed me to take this Q because I wanted to celebrate my 3-year F3 anniversary by Qing a specific workout, and it set up perfectly for the WoW this week. I knew it was going to be a slow day at The Ridge with Pimp Daddy Flo opening The Grove down the street. Arrived around 4:40am to set up and noticed Sensodyne waiting to EC.  At 4:55am he was still waiting in his car, so I took a loop around the AO with him to get warmed up.  Morticia was planting his flag when we returned, so I wrangled him into taking site-Q duties.  Hackman showed up which was pretty cool because he was at my first workout 3 years ago.  We launched into WaR without Rebar (who showed up mid-workout and jumped right in!).

A man’s Right relationship with himself–his Fitness–begins with his body. The purpose of this workout was to show that by choosing each day to put our body in motion, we will gradually and consistently Accelerate our fitness.  Each day we focus on our King, we get better.  The design of this workout is 7 rounds, or days. By choosing to start each round, PAX will see they are able to accomplish more and more.

Round 1 (“Day 1”):      At the starting cone (bottom of the hill), perform 1 burpee.

Bear crawl to the second cone (1/3 up hill), perform 1 merkin.

Bear crawl to the third cone (2/3 up hill), perform 1 big boy.

Bear crawl to the fourth cone (top of hill), perform 1 squat.

Run out to a point roughly 0.12 miles and back to start cone (1/4 mi total).

Round 2 (“Day 2”):      At the starting cone, perform 2 burpees.

Bear crawl to the second cone, perform 2 merkins.

Bear crawl to the third cone, perform 2 big boys.

Bear crawl to the fourth cone, perform 2 squats.

Run out to a point roughly 0.12 miles and back to start cone (1/4 mi total).

Round 3 (“Day 3”):      At the starting cone, perform 3 burpees.

Bear crawl to the second cone, perform 3 merkins.

Bear crawl to the third cone, perform 3 big boys.

Bear crawl to the fourth cone, perform 3 squats.

Run out to a point roughly 0.12 miles and back to start cone (1/4 mi total).

Round 4 (“Day 4”):      At the starting cone, perform 4 burpees.

Bear crawl to the second cone, perform 4 merkins.

Bear crawl to the third cone, perform 4 big boys.

Bear crawl to the fourth cone, perform 4 squats.

Run out to a point roughly 0.12 miles and back to start cone (1/4 mi total).

Round 5 (“Day 5”):      At the starting cone, perform 5 burpees.

Bear crawl to the second cone, perform 5 merkins.

Bear crawl to the third cone, perform 5 big boys.

Bear crawl to the fourth cone, perform 5 squats.

Run out to a point roughly 0.12 miles and back to start cone (1/4 mi total).

Round 6 (“Day 6”):      At the starting cone, perform 6 burpees.

Bear crawl to the second cone, perform 6 merkins.

Bear crawl to the third cone, perform 6 big boys.

Bear crawl to the fourth cone, perform 6 squats.

Run out to a point roughly 0.12 miles and back to start cone (1/4 mi total).

Round 7 (“Day 7”):      At the starting cone, perform 7 burpees.

Bear crawl to the second cone, perform 7 merkins.

Bear crawl to the third cone, perform 7 big boys.

Bear crawl to the fourth cone, perform 7 squats.

Circle of Trust

The King is the daily discipline of physically training the body. A man’s right relationship with himself–his Fitness–begins with his body. Because it is his most fundamental piece of physical equipment, a man must get it and keep it in the normal upright position at all times if he wants to be Effective. In fact, because Preparedness requires him to be ready for the unexpected (not just to get ready for the expected), the HIM is focused on gradually but consistently Accelerating his fitness level rather than merely staying in shape. Staying in shape is what Amateurs try to do.

Today, by choosing to keep starting the next round—the next “day”—we were shown that we can keep Accelerating and achieving more than we had previously accomplished.

There is no best or only way to Accelerate. What works best for the individual man will be dependent on the man himself and the circumstances of time, place and age that are beyond his control. But what is true for all men seeking to Accelerate, is that it works much better as a Group than as a Singleton . Together, we spur one another on to places we would never reach alone. Together, we sharpen each other–as iron sharpens iron.

It’s simple really. If you want to learn how to run faster, just find a faster man. And chase him until you catch him.

Naked Man Moleskin

Today’s workout was my FNG workout from 3 years ago.  That day I think I completed 3.5 or 4 rounds…so it was great to see how far I have come since then.

It was also pretty cool to have an AO opening on this day…three years later and our region is growing like crazy!

Thanks again to Quatro for letting me lead today’s workout.  This date means a lot to me.

Thanks to Morty for helping pick up the six.  I know how humbling this workout is for newbies, and Olive Oyl didn’t quit today!

Finally, thanks again to Hackman for coming out today.  It was pretty cool to hear him remember my naming ceremony from 3 years ago!
