Introduction
A game of memory
Warm-O-Rama
Ran to the end of the parking lot whilst going through the DMCC;
Disclaimer, Moto, Credo, and 5 Core principles.
The Thang
A game of memory. 20 cards laid out in a grid pattern in the parking lot 5X4.
Each card was labeled with its location (A1 through D5)
Each card had an exercise on the front of the card and the name of a pax on the backside.
Pax were instructed:
Run to a card, perform the exercise, look at the name on the back of the card. From there you can choose 1 of 2 actions;
- pick it up, run to another card, pick it up immediately and see if you got a match
- if you got a match, keep both cards. Run to a new card, and start again
- if you no match, immediately put both cards back where they go, and run a lap.
- leave the card where it is and run to another card and start again.
Try to get as many matches as possible.
Issues discovered: It can happen where 1 PAX picks up a card from one location and begins running to its match on the other side of the grid. At the same time, another pax is already picking up it’s match and running to the other side of the grid. We just went with it and played nice.
It would also be good to run a quick “practice round” with A1 through B2 to give pax a better explination of what to do.
Circle of Trust
Circle of Trust was about prayers of petition, asking prayers;
What is happening when I ask??
Gratitude – when we ask, we grow in gratitude. Thankful for all we have.
Control – when we pray asking prayers, we wage war over trying to gain control. He is in control and we look to him for help.
Why does God want me to ask? doesn’t he already know?
Relationship – God’s end game is relationship with us. This requires communication. Asking is part of that.
Empowerment – relationship may be God’s endgame, empowerment is his way of getting us there.
We are co-laborers with God. Our prayer DOES something!!
Prayer is not the ascent of the soul to something ethereal (extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world)
But to the common everyday stuff like prayer for daily bread.
Naked Man Moleskin
All men were wearing their moleskine. None were without something to wear.
