Introduction
The Wimbledon 2025 tennis tournament for 2025 just wrapped up and is one of my family’s favorite sporting events, so I decided to incorporate a little tennis into run club today. I went and set-up a bunch of tennis rackets at the PCHS courts before meeting up with the EC crew for a burger run at 4:55.
Warm-O-Rama
Balance stretch holds while going over the introduction, disclaimer, F3 mission, core principles, and credo.
Extended world’s greatest stretch.
Our site-Q, Mr. Kotter, got the count and went over the safety stuff.
The Thang
Thang 1: 1.7-mile long way run down Renwick to 59 to Ft. Beggs to the tennis courts. When you get there, turn around and pick up the 6.
Thang 2: Split into 2 groups. One group played tennis, and the other did agility drills on the courts, and then we switched after a few minutes.
Thang 3: Pass the racket back slingshot run the short way (about 3/4-mile) back to the AO along River and back to the path. Stopped at the T in the path.
Thang 4: Sprint smash ball. I started off by hitting a tennis ball as far as I could with my racket. We all sprint to the ball. Whoever gets there first gets the next whack at the ball.
Made it back to the flags with a few minutes to spare so we did a couple stretches until recover-recover.
Circle of Trust
As I mentioned in the preblast, my family is a big fan of Wimbledon. Every year for at least the past 3 years, my daughter will do some research and then try to stump my wife and I on tennis trivia over the course of the tournament. What really cracks me up is that she’ll always deliver the trivia question in a British accent. So I decided to read off a few of her trivia questions to the group today. I wasn’t going to do the accent, but after some encouragement from the group, I went ahead with it. Fun times.
Naked Man Moleskin
With the running and games, we got about 4 miles in. Big thanks to Mr. Kotter for helping me plan and for bringing extra rackets and balls for the big group of HCs we got. Thanks to Dilly Dilly for the coffee.
