Circle of Trust

F3 Plainfield hosted GrowRuck 30 this past weekend. About a month ago I had put in quite a bit of training for the event and I felt as prepared as I could be for the event. Then I had an accident in which I fell down my stairs and separated my ribs. It took a few weeks, but I was able to get back out about a week prior to GrowRuck and I felt as though I was going to be able to complete the event. I began the event and made it two thirds of the way through the “welcome party” when I took a ruck sack to the ribs which made me unable to continue. I joined the Support Team which allowed me to still follow along all of my fellow PAX and watch watch them persevere through the event. Although I wasn’t able to personally complete the exercise, I know I, and the Region, will reap the benefits of GTE30. The men that completed it now understand they can go well beyond what their minds tell them they can, and the leadership lessons they learned will carry throughout the Region for many years to come.

Naked Man Moleskin

I had Bernie, who has never Q’d a workout, lead 20 other PAX in 10 SSH. Bernie did a great job his first time through, only missing a few minor parts of calling cadence. I then had Bernie teach Snuggles, who was out for his fourth workout, lead the PAX in 10 SSH. It wasn’t perfect, but Snuggles was able to learn from Bernie, who did a great job leading Bernie.

This is what F3 is all about. Giving it away and developing new leaders.
