Introduction

This past weekend, I was traveling for work, and did not have a local AO to drop in at.  I tried Virtual on Saturday, but it was not as vigorous as I would have liked.  As such, I really wanted to kick my own ass, but the beatdown I had in mind was going to make me do things that I really didn’t want to do.  After asking a few others about my plan, I decided to go with it.

Circle of Trust

With today being Valentines Day, I tasked PAX to not only remember and recognize their M’s and romantic partners, but to also remember the other loved ones in their lives.  I then went on to explain where the inspiration for this beatdown came from.

On the recommendation of the one and only Den Mother, I “audio-read” Outlive by Peter Attia who is an Health and Fitness Physician.  His book touches on many different concepts for improving ones health-span as well as their life-span.  One of these is physical fitness.  He goes on to explain that people who focus on being able to do the following exercises in their 40’s and 50’s put themselves in a much better position to improve the quality of the day to day lives once they reach their 70’s, 80’s, and beyond.

These benchmarks include:

  • 2-Minute Dead hang
  • 2-Minute 90 Degree Squat Hold
  • 2-Minute Bodyweight Farmers Carry

Today we targeted the farmers carry.

Great work everyone!

Naked Man Moleskin

This morning I thought I we had completed something that that we have not done before.  After sharing this accomplishment with META the following day, he kinda smirked our effort and said he just Q’d up a 3-mile farmers carry.  Seems I have some work to do!  Nice job META!
