The Thang

We split into 2 groups in the parking lot. The 1st group started with 50 Skull Crushers, 40 Curls, 30 Bent over Rows and 20 Overhead Press while the 2nd group did 20 Swings, 30 Pullovers, 40 squats and 50 Chest Press.

When each group was finished we ran to different areas of the AO, one left on the path, the other to the right on the path, to complete another set of body weight exercises in reps of 20, 30, 40 and 50 or 50, 40, 30 and 20. We then ran back to the parking lot to switch to the opposite side of the board, do our reps and run to the other side of the AO to complete those body weight exercises.

We finished with a 3-2-1 Merkin Ring of Fire.

Circle of Trust

As my wife and I were planning for our Fall session of Reengage, the marriage mnistry we lead through our church that begins next week I began to think about how much F3 seems to mimic marriage, and how much marriage mimics F3.

In F3, we like to say we don’t wake up for easy, implying that we wake up ready to take on the challenges of each day. Every one of us who is married, or in a relationship, knows that the journey is not always easy and we will face many challenges along the way. Whether you’ve been on that journey for 1 year or 31 years as my M and me, you know that the road is filled with detours and staying on course takes work.

In F3 we also suggest modifying the exercise but not the effort. Throughout the many seasons of marriage, we regularly need to assess our situation and often make significant modifications. For instance, many of us have young kids that consume a great deal of our M’s and our time. Others have older kids and wish they now had time to spend with us.  Regardless of what season of life you’re in, always put forth the same amount of effort to ensure success in your marriage as you do to reach the goals you’ve set with F3.

Ask yourselves a few F3-esque questions about your marriage:

  • Do you always look out for your M and pick up her 6?
  • How long has it been since you HC’d for a date with your M?
  • Have you earned any EC (extra credit) with her lately?
  • When was the last time you fart sacked on a commitment you made to her?

Bottom line: If we put as much energy and passion into our marriage as we do F3 our lives truly will become 1% better every day.

Thaks to Old Maid for having the 6 today and helping keep me on track. Thanks to all the PAX that came out today and put in the effort to do hard things.
