Introduction

Saw this idea on Strava about running a 12K (7.2 miles) as a “12 K’s of Christmas” theme. Checked in with two BD afficianados, Sparkler and Picasso, and they said they were IN, so that’s how this came to fruition.

Warm-O-Rama

Everyone showed up already warmed up and ready to launch at 0500.

The Thang

We ran a simple 12K route from The Olympiad to The Wood and back, 3.6 miles each way with the goal of finishing right around an hour.

Circle of Trust

We were all very proud of Bueller this morning as he showed up not expecting to run an actual 12K. As we all figure out at some point during our time in the 1st F of F3, we end up doing A LOT of things that we probably would’ve NEVER done if it weren’t for the other men that push us to do so in ITG. This was one of those days and Bueller finished strong like the solid young man he his!

Naked Man Moleskin

If you’ve read the book “The Comfort Crisis”, then you are already familiar with the concept of Misogi. Misogis are a way to test your personal limits, not compare yourself with anyone else. It’s up to you to find, or create the conditions, that make you uncomfortable and will challenge you beyond just an every day event.

From the article, “The Misogi Challenge – Taking Risks and Crushing Your Comfort Zone“.

The notion around the misogi is you do something so hard one time a year that it has an impact the other 364 days of the year.
