Circle of Trust

I want to start with this quote, “A positive attitude gives you power over your circumstances instead of your circumstances having power over you.”

Dude – shit happens.  It happens everyday and to everyone at some point. I would let it bring me down.  I battled with anxiety and depression for years.  Two hospital stays, medication and years of therapy.   What changed for me when I took control of my life?  I don’t worry about things that I can not control such as something my ex wife may do or message me about or if people don’t like my workout.  Those are choices that those people make.  I used to worry about what people thought or did or what might happen.  Fuck that shit.  Don’t waste the time worrying about things you can’t control or the what if’s.  Instead of all that unnecessary worrying, go and prepare yourself to react as things happen.    Don’t get hung up on the bad thing that happened.  Again, shit happens.  There is always a solution.  Instead of focusing on the bad thing that happened, go ahead and figure out a solution.  Finally, find the positive.  A positive mindset changes how we view everything. Yesterday, I had another appointment with the doctor I have been seeing for my plantar fasciitis.  Rest, physical therapy and then now EPAT therapy have not helped.  I am getting an MRI tomorrow and am meeting with the doctor in a week and a half to get the steroid injection and discuss the surgery options.  At first, I left there bummed out.  I can’t run my half marathon in June that I had signed up for months ago.  I had just filed the paperwork for forming my personal training business this week and now I am going to be in a boot for a few weeks.  Here’s the point where the old me would have let it bring me down and I would have a pity party for a long time.  But no, not anymore.  Preparedness.  Shit happens.  I am solution minded now.  It doesn’t change anything from my business startup plan.  I may have to be in a boot for a few weeks so who cares.  I will get this foot fixed so I don’t have to struggle with this as I have for the past 14 months.  I will come back strong and will get ready for Ragnar this fall.

Now think about the last shitty thing that happened in your life.  How did you let it affect you?  Did you dwell on the bad thing and let it bring you down for a while?  My challenge to you is to focus on the solutions and what you can control the next time something shitty happens.

Aye?

Naked Man Moleskin

I had a brain fart and only made up 18 things on my list instead of 36 so we did the set of exercises twice.  The pax did not know that but I realized as we were going along that I didn’t have enough exercises planned.  It went smoothly and no one noticed.
