Introduction

Almost Fart Sacked my own Q! Luckily no cops were out on my journey to The Olympiad for my AO VQ. The weather was perfect and I was lucky enough to lead some PAX that I have not gotten to lead in the past.

The Thang

Only had 1 Thang today to keep it simple and effective:

Each PAX partnered up and started at one of 6 cones that were each about 15 yards out from a center shovel flag. Partner 1 performed the written exercise while partner 2 made their way to the flag for a specified exercise. Partners switched and then journeyed to the next cone. After completing all 6 rotations, partners took a 1/4 mile loop around the track. Rinse and Repeat.

Cone Exercises:

  1. Coupon Merkins
  2. Coupon Squats
  3. Coupon Swings
  4. Coupon Jumps
  5. 21s
  6. Skull crushers or triceps extensions

For each round, the cone exercises stayed the same. The center flag workouts rotated as follows:

Round 1: Rifle carry to center, 10 thrusters, rifle carry back

Round 2: Lunge walk to the center, 10 leg lifts, lunge walk back

Round 3: Jog to center, 3 burpees, jog back

Circle of Trust

I am on day 13 of 75 Hard and I have been reading Atomic Habits but James Clear. The book focuses on systemic change at the atomic level – what is the 1% change you can make on a daily basis to improve your habits? And how do you mentally persevere to accomplish this when your current habits can be so deeply rooted in your everyday life? Part of the answer is to shift your mindset from “have to” to “get to”. We GET to wake up each morning, and use our physical gifts to get better – that is not the case for many people. We GET to go to work, come home to our friends and families, etc. Shift your thinking which will in turn shift your habits.
