Introduction

It was a perfect morning to get some miles in. I have tried to do this Q two other times and the weather did not cooperate. Today the grass was a bit wet but we were able to execute the original plan.

The Thang

This was a soccer based Q that I use for conditioning with my high school players. The soccer field is divided up into 6 parts( the drill is called a 6 section and marked by a cone) and you start at mid field. You then sprint and recover over the 6 sections of the soccer field in the following order. All cones are spaced out 50 yards apart.

Jog to one cone, sprint to the next cone

Jog one cone, sprint the next 2 cones

Jog one cone, sprint the next 3 cones

Jog one cone, sprint the next 4 cones

Jog one cone, spring the next 5 cones

Finally you end up sprinting all 6 cones which is the entire perimeter of the soccer field. We then did 20 big boys and 20 merkins and then started over with the first cone.

Circle of Trust

Today I talked about setting goals and pushing yourself past your limit. We celebrated Foundations 400th post today and no doubt he did not get to this number without setting obtainable goals along the way. Each one of us needs to set small goals to help us achieve our overall goals. These goals will be different for each PAX but what is important to remember is that each one of us needs to find what will push us to accelerate and keep moving forward. For some PAX that is a post count, for others it’s a number of miles each week, for some it is simply a number of posts each week. Whatever that goal is for yourself write it down and hold yourself accountable to it. Then share that with other PAX who can help push and guide you along the way. Finally, once you reach that goal come up with a new one to keep working towards.

Another fine Monday morning run club at the Colosseum. We had a first timer today as Dear Abby joined us for his first run club and got out of his comfort zone and did a great job this morning. As always Foundation provided non stop entertainment for us this morning and we all kicked Monday straight in the nuts. We did not give him too much of a hard time since he was celebrating his 400th post but he did complain about getting his feet wet in the grass since he did not read the preblast.
