Introduction
This was my 3rd attempt at sharing my current infatuation with Kettle Bell workouts. Getting better but the AAR in my head says “keep trying. you can do better”. Good stuff and everyone was feeling the burn.
Warm-O-Rama
Willie mays hays, Arm Circles, Standing Calf Stretch, Abe vigodas, and Michael Phelps.
The Thang
Ran down by the pond and around to the hill be the school. Did 3-2-1 sets of “knock out merkins” Made this up the day before with my brother. Shoulder tap, Peter Parker, Parker Peter, and a Mike Tyson pushup = 1. Did 3 then bear crawled up and Crawl Bear back to do 2 then up and back to do one. Headed back to the flags for the main event.
Worked through Kettle Bell basics around the world, Halos, swing, hand switch, clean, and OHP. Through combinations and working up to the 1/2 snatch an an attempt to demonstrate the inside clean.
Ran through combinations of multiple exercises including mixes of Swings, cleans, OHP and Squats. One handed alternating dead lifts, Windmills, Etc.
This was a heavy on demonstration Q with some learning involved. Demonstrating on how by using Kettle Bells you can work on building endurance and strength at the same time.
Finished with some penguin taps and a merkin circle of fire.
Circle of Trust
YHC shared how I just finished an incredibly tough project that was tough not because of anything but the team being disrespectful and difficult to work with.
Years ago I came to the realization that nobody can affect my emotions unless I let them. Nobody can make you angry. You become angry in a response to them. Once you don’t let them have that power over you you regain yourself and can handle potentially stressful situations very differently. I struggle with this at times but more and more can catch myself and step away to recenter. Over the years I have gone from someone who had a reputation as a hot head to someone who i recognized for handling stressful situations and people calmly and with restraint.
Naked Man Moleskin
I watch a lot of YouTube while travelling and highly recommend Mark Wildman for Kettlebell videos. The best instruction and direction that I have found with tons of content.
Highly underrated and often improperly used piece of exercise equipment. Great at building strength and you core.
