I want to start with this quote “Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies.” People do things that hurt us. Some of the hurts are deep and take more emotional healing than others. For years, I would hold onto the resentment and think about what might have happened differently. When you hold onto the past hurts, you continue to give those people control over your life and you can’t move forward. My new mindset over the last few years is to not worry about things outside of your control and that has made such a significant impact on my life. You can not control how people act or what they say so don’t waste the time, energy and stress worrying about it.
