Introduction

Come on out to the easiest bootcamp available at 5:15.  Your presence will be rewarded with a plan that will be anything but easy.  We will stay in the lot the entire time.  We will work chest, shoulders, and biceps.  The bootcamp will be coupon heavy, almost zero running, with a good amount of cardio as we’ll work non stop.  Curious?…  Come check it out.

(It was raining ITG.  If it started pouring or lightning we were going to pivot under the pavilion for a backup plan that was equally difficult.  It wasn’t raining too hard.  Bunker texted me, “Feel free to use the pavilion.”  I responded politely with, “Thank you…. I do…  It’s not going to happen.”)

Warm-O-Rama

WoR – shoulder stretch left provided disclaimer, shoulder stretch right and went over our principles, Circles f/b and reminded Men of our MIssion Statement (Initial 2 stretches were done oyo so I could talk,  Michael Phelps IC, 10 blockees, Colt 45s, 10 squirrel thrusters, 1 Mountain Merkin, and finally 1, 4 x 4.  (Most of WoR was to stretch and check form for movements we will do in a team relay.  I also want Men to know the movements they are intended to do so once we get into a relay race they can perform exercises quickly.) Counted off by two’s and moved into our respective teams.  We had two teams of 6. 

The Thang

The thang – four relay races.  Men line up, all do a stationary exercise while one does an out and back.  First team to have everyone complete the out and back wins.  

Men Performed Amrap’d Grady Corns while I explained the movements for each relay.  

1st Relay – stationary exercise OHP Amrap.  Riffle Carry out to a cone, perform 5 blockees, Riffle Carry Back until team is done.  The winning team performs 4 x 4s if they had to wait awhile.  Once both teams were done, winners took a victory lap while losers performed Grady Corns.  

 

2nd Relay – stationary exercise Mountain Merkins Amrap.  Bear Crawl past Cones to my Coupon Collection.  Perform offset and Diamond merkins from one side to the next over the coupons and bear Crawl Back.  I set up 3 coupons for each team to go up and over before bear crawling back.  The outside coupons were baby half coupons so it made the diamond merkins more challenging.  

 

3rd Relay – stationary exercise Curls Amrap.  Curl carry out to Cone, perform 5 Squirrel Thrusters, Curl carry back.  

 

4th Relay – stationary exercise, standing we’re not worthies, Bear Crawl out  to my Coupon collection, grab two half coupons, perform 5 weighted Michael Phelps up to what looks like an Iron Cross (gymnastics) and Bear crawl back.

 

Ladders of plank jacks and mountain climbers was my initial plan for Mary.  I was debating doing some big boys also.  I did tell Disco Ball that I wasn’t going to ask Men to lay down on soaked pavement so I simply asked my team if they would mind performing big boys.  “I’d rather not.” was the response and attitude so I was going to go with my initial plan until Dauber said. “Meh Mary.”  I don’t get too much out of Mary typically unless it is stretching after a run club.  I had Dauber pick his favorite relay.  We did the 3rd Relay again.   My team lost the fourth relay and when the winning team got back, and I said we were going to do the third relay again, I enjoyed putting the dismay of the winning team on Dauber.  It was funny.  We got through the third relay again with about 1 minute to spare.  We performed 4 x 4s while waiting for 6:00.   

 

If it started pouring, lightning, or Disco Ball (our 6) deemed conditions unsafe; I had a very brutal plan waiting underneath the pavilion for everyone.  Seemed to stop raining right at 5:15.

Circle of Trust

I admitted to only being an F1 guy for a really long time.  I don’t like social media b/c I feel the more you are on it the less social you are.  I confessed that it took me almost 6 months of working out with Men ITG to eventually get on Slack.  I did not at all get it.  I only worked out at the Wood and other places my neighbors would tell me to go.  I thought the workouts were good initially but also thought Men were a little weird and in my face about getting on this social platform – Slack.  I didn’t hang out or talk to anyone, other than simple pleasantries.  The people that would go on to inspire me in ways I didn’t initially realize wouldn’t leave me alone about Slack and what I was missing out on.

I referred to everyone ITG CoT this morning and outside of our circle as Inspirations to me for various reasons.  I called them teachers.  I connected this, in your face sort of get on slack mentality, to the modality of education.

All of you Men, you teachers, were trying to give me something that I was naive to.  I ended with a quote I like.

“When the student is ready, the teacher appears…. when the student is actually ready, the teacher disappears.”

I love how we all help each other and support each other to lead better.  We keep having each others back and 6, supporting each other to stand until we can stand on our own.

 

Naked Man Moleskin

I switched relay teams b/c team one was beating team two pretty good.  I subbed two men from one team and two from another.  It turns out, if Disco Ball and Blue Gill are on the same team they do not lose.  It also works out that whatever team I am on I lose.  lol.

Everyone got a chance to win with the exception of Meta and yhc.  (Sorry Meta). Win or lose.  Felt like everyone Won Today.  Was proud of how everyone pushed.
