Introduction

It was a chilly morning as I rolled up on the bridge & threw my hazards on.  I had to drop off some PREPAREDNESS tools by the bridge for later to make sure the men got to experience the unexpected.  I hustled back to the AO, got set up, & then set off for a run with a few HIMs!  As we returned back there was another group of men cranking out their daily 10 minutes of planking for the Feb challenge.

Warm-O-Rama

Introduced myself & then we took off in a sprint to the other end of the parking lot where we crab walked down the baby hill, did 5 burpees, & then bear crawled up before running back to the flags.

Proceeded that with some:  Good mornings, SSH, a few more burpees, & some Grady Corns.

The Thang

In the middle of the thang below I added a bit of “unexpected”.  I told the men their was a car crash at the Bridge & we were the the most proximate people to help in the accident so we Indian Ran to the bridge, bear crawled over the Bridge & pulled the family from the wreckage (3 sandbags & 1 kettlebell) then we had to move the family back to the AO for emergency services.

 

Thang 1 – The G3L: 35 min.

 

Pax will complete the exercises at each station & then rotate clockwise to the next station (ex. Get Right should rotate to live right, live right to lead right, lead right to leave right).  Your responsibility is to create disruption during the workout & represent the fact that the G3L is not a check the box routine as throughout life you will fall in & out of certain quadrants based on what is happening in your life, representing the concept of Preparedness.  You will be given (see end of workout) a series of life events that at your choice you will approach any of the 4 groups & give them a life situation that will either send them back to a previous quadrant or will have them accelerate forward to another quadrant (you determine the cadence of this but every couple of minutes should be good.  Groups might repeat quadrants, which is fine.

Q1 – Get Right.

A man must properly align HIMSELF by committing to accelerate his fitness by taking the DRP (daily red pill).  At this station the exercises are focused on individualized work & getting yourself better not worrying about others.  Complete the following exercises by yourself:

  • 25 merkins
  • 50 LBC’s
  • 75 Air Squats
  • 100 SSH (single count, NOT IC)

 

Q2 – Live Right 

To be purposeful & have a strong effect on OTHER members of the group.  At this station the exercises are focused on partner activity.  Complete the following exercises in DORA format (mark off about 25 yards out from station start for the traveling part of the DORA):

  • 50 merkins
  • 50 LBC’s
  • 50 Squats
  • 100 SSH (single count, NOT IC)

 

Q3 – Lead Right 

Continuous sharpening of virtuous leadership skills to help organizations be effective & directly making TEAMS more dynamic.  At this station the exercises are led by one of the PAX in the group stepping up to lead the rest of the group in the exercises listed:

  • 10 Slow count merkins IC (count 3 down, PAX count the number on the way up)
  • 20 LBC’s IC
  • 10 Slow count squats IC (count 3 down, PAX count the number on the way up)
  • 20 SSH IC

 

Q4 – Leave Right 

To build a legacy through disruptive leadership over time leads to impact throughout his lifetime & OTHERS beyond.  At this station the exercises are focused on whatever the group chooses they want to do to leave their legacy.

  • PAX take turns calling out at exercise & leading the group

 

Disruptive Life Events (group at that station you disrupt all moves together)

  • Work requirements have caused you to travel a lot throwing your Queen out of whack with a lot of alcohol consumption & poor diet choices.  Time to tame the Jester, fall back to “GET RIGHT”.
  • Your wife mentions that she feels like your life is revolving around F3 but she doesn’t feel like she & your kids are fitting into that acceleration in your life.  Time to refocus priorities, fall back to “LIVE RIGHT”
  • You have been contributing to F3 for a year & the current SLT asks you to step into a Site Q role.  Take the challenge & move forward to “LEAD RIGHT”
  • Your kids have grown up & your daughter is leading an at risk youth group & your son is running a non-profit organization.  You have left your mark, move to “LEAVE RIGHT”
  • You have reached VP role status in your company after years of hard work & you are dictating orders to your team to be successful at all costs. Time to look at your leadership style, fall back to LEAD RIGHT.
  • You have a strong need to build deep relationships with the men around you but are unwilling to commit & prioritize being vulnerable by joining a Shield Lock relationship. Time to commit, fall back to “GET RIGHT”
  • You have recently uncovered your passion/purpose or D2X & have written a mission statement for yourself.  Time to put that purpose to action, move forward to “LIVE RIGHT”

 

MARY:  Brought back & old tradition of the burpee waterfall which was a Plainfield signature move back when we use to take over Naperville’s early bootcamp. We got 2 rounds of 3 burpees in to honor Soft Hands 300th post & Sparkler’s 600th post

Naked Man Moleskin

Congrats to Soft Hands for 300th post.  This HIM has been making an impact since the first day he started working through the “Get Right & Live Right” quadrants.  Recently has been stepping up in the “Lead Right” by Site Q’ing at The Olympiad & has started to “Leave Right” leading 3rd F programs like the Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics & The 3rd F Foundation.

Congrats to Sparkler for his 600th post.  I personally remember being their at this HIM’s first workout where I was working circles around him doing things like Bear Crawls up & down the hill at The Ridge on his Journey to Get Right.  He continued to excel in the “Live Right” in being the man for his family through their daughters medical journey.  He was quickly given an opportunity to “Lead Right” as a Site Q & now starting to “Leave Right ” by leaving a legacy in F3 Plainfield for his work on SLT 3.0.  Did I mention the guy can now work circles around me at that same hill at The Ridge.  If you want to accelerate your fitness & get out of your comfort zone just go experience one of this guys Q’s, I promise you will not leave anything left in the tank after the beat down is over.
