Introduction
This morning we tried a new format for a card game – partner 5 card poker.

The Thang
The workout involved three rounds of 5 card partner poker. PAX first selected a partner and went to one end of the lot. The cards were moved to the other end of the lot.
For round one – one partner did a bear crawl to the card deck, selected a card, and then ran back. The other partner did SSH until the partner returned. This continued until each team had 5 cards.
Once every team had 5 cards, the teams had to decide if they wanted to play or fold in the poker game. Teams that folded did 10 burpees. Teams that played and lost did 15 burpees. The team that won was not “required” to do any burpees.
All PAX did the exercises on the 5 cards of the winning hand. At the end of round 1, we did a lap and ended in the pavilion for round two.
Round 2 – same format, but the cards were placed in another pavilion. Pax took turns running to get a card while the partner did step ups. This continued until each team had 5 cards. Rinse and repeat on the above after the winning team was determined.
Round 3 – same format, but back to the parking lot. This time the Pax did wheelbarrow to the end to get the cards. It took us until 5:58 to complete round three.
Burpees were done together as part of Mary, which took us to 6:00.
Circle of Trust
The COT focused on how we respond to some of the things happening around us that we can’t make sense of. Lots of bad news and things that feel out of our control. The message was to focus on what we can control, and that is how we step up to lead our families and our communities. F3 is about taking control of the things in your life that you can control and influence. When we do this, it does not necessarily make us feel better about bad situations around us, but does help us feel more in control our our own lives and how we respond in our own communities.
Prayers were sent out to the communities recently impacted by tragedy and violence, along with prayers to Burnt Ends and his family.

I appreciated the feedback after the workout. It was a good workout, a great opportunity to try something a little different with a Deck of F3 cards, and a great way to see that 21 men got better this morning.
