Introduction
Another great day to be in the Gloom as the temps were perfect for this mornings beatdown. Sparkler was with us in spirit as I am sure he wished some rain on us and we had some misting this morning. All 7 pax committed to the EC standard that is Friday’s at the Grove. Hell even Sparkler did some EC while out of town( shocking I know)

Circle of Trust
Today’s beatdown was one of the first that I Q’d following my broken leg accident. My son helped me write it and it truly represents the young man that he is. Tomorrow May 3rd will be his 13th birthday and he is officially a teenager. He lives by the motto that it is not the size of the man in the fight, but the size of his heart in the fight that matters. He is not a big kid by any means. In fact he is on the smaller size for kids his age. However, it does not matter to him when he is on the soccer field if you are 6 foot or 4 foot tall he will square you up either way as a defender with no fear. He does not back down from a physical challenge on the soccer field and we jokingly call him Ricky Bobby during his cross country and track meets as for a while he truly thought he had to win every race and did not understand the scoring system of these sports while in 6th grade. He really did believe that if you were not first you were last! He truly wants to win every meet, event, and game that he plays in and his effort backs that up. He has always had to work twice as hard to be noticed because let’s face it, the little guys rarely stick out on the field. As much as we joke that if we put his heart and mind in that of a bigger kid he would be quite an athlete, but in the end I would not change a thing. Eventually he will hit his grow spurt and because of his hard work and dedication to always getting better he will be just fine. When challenges do arrive he will be ready to fight because he has never backed down and I know he never will. When we wrote this workout I recall him saying why would you guys need a break after each exercise? Granted he was 9 at the time but I decided to roll with it and in the end this turned into a pretty solid 45 minute non stop full body work out.

Great morning with the Grove crew for a Friday. Thanks to Chum Bucket for stepping in as substitute SQ. If you have yet to make it out to the Grove on a Friday the energy is awesome and a great way to end your week. Do not let the EC scare you off. It is meant to allow you to be ready to roll into the workout and truly be ready to roll right at 5:15.
