Introduction

You’ve got your easy out and back rucks and then you have something totally different.  This was something totally different.

Warm-O-Rama

Little bit of stretching and warming up with some motivators and arm circles.

The Thang

The goal was to get a lot of PT and elevation changes worked into the Ruck.  We started with WW1’s at the WW1 memorial hidden in the park. Merkins on the way to the hill then bear crawled up the hill dragging our ruck so we could do squats at the top.  We went up every staircase we could find and stopped at every park bench to do dips or irkins.  More squats, overhead press, rocky balboas, and found some boulders to walk over.  All while swapping carrying a 40lb sandbag.  Definitely something else.

Circle of Trust

Points are a great motivator to push yourself but don’t loose track of the true reason we’re showing up.  Don’t sacrifice becoming a better leader, husband, or father in trying to win.  If you’re looking for the easy way or not pushing yourself are you really winning?

Naked Man Moleskin

Reindeer games falls right around when I stop travelling for work.  It’s a time for me to push myself way out of my comfort zone.  A lot of people get confused when I share that I pick someone to beat.  This isn’t about “winning” against that person.  They probably don’t even know that’s my goal.  It’s a way to push myself harder and further than I would without that challenge.  At the end of the day I know the only person I’m competing against is myself. By constantly moving the goalpost I keep myself pushing. And if you’re wondering if I’m trying to beat you at this silly game?? I am.
