Introduction

Welcome to the Wood. I am 1040EZ. Today we will remember 9/11. Various pax recited the 5 core principals, the credo & f3’s mission.

I am not a professional and know of any injuries. We are here to get better and accelerate  but know your limitations and modify any exercise you may need to.

 

On 9/11 2001, 2977 souls perished.

The Thang

4 cones, 2 each represented the towers that were attacked September 11th, 2001.

Pax divided into two groups, starting at opposite towers . At Tower one’s two cones Group 1 did 9’s consisting of Blockees & Bent Over Rows. 1 blockee & 8 bent over rows.

Then group 1 went to tower two rescue carrying one member of the group leaving some to farmer carry two coupons. They went to tower two and did 11’s consisting of weighted squats & chest presses. Then returned to tower one, rescue carrying a group’s member to start the next set in their 9’s.

Group 2 started at tower two and mirrored what group 1 was doing.

Tower one’s blockees & Bent over rows represented the concrete that had to be moved for rescue. I asked the pax to think about Todd Beamer’s “Lets Roll” quote when between the tower cones.

Both groups finished all the 9’s & all the 11’s!

 

Circle of Trust

Never forget!

Like many of you, I watched 9/11 live on TV. It got a little more personal for me. I was winding down the ownership of a trucking company I owned and started to get calls asking me if I had noticed the 2001 client calendars I gave out. That calendar’s month of September showed a truck in front of the twin towers.

Additionally, that week, I received a call from the Andrew corporation asking if I could take a load to New York because when the towers fell, most of the Television and radio Stations went off the air. While there, we met many that were directly affected by the attacks. It was very sombering.

2,977 people were killed in the 9/11 attacks, more than were killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
The rescue and recovery clean-up involved the removal of 1.8 million tons of wreckage from the WTC site took 9 months.

Only 18 people were rescued alive from the rubble of the World Trade Center site.

Two days after 9/11, Queen Elizabeth broke 600 years of tradition by having the US national Anthem played at the changing of the guard.

THE 9/11 COMMISSION REPORT listed some items that contributed, allowing the attacks to happen.

  • Problems within the Intelligence Community
  • Problems in the FBI
  • Permeable Borders and Immigration Controls
  • Unprepared Homeland Defense
  • Slow responding Congress

I believe these conditions are present today and it’s not will it happen again, but when. I pray that I am wrong.

When history is not preserved and discussed, history has a way of repeating itself!
