Introduction

This morning was all about how we shift our mindset from “Can I” to “How can I”.

Warm-O-Rama

Dynamic warm-up – 400 meter mosey with stretches, warm-up and welcome all mixed in.

The Thang

The Thang involved a ladder run club.  The ladder went this way.

200 run regular pace – 200 run push pace

400 run regular pace – 400 run push pace

600 run regular pace – 600 run push pace

1 mile run regular pace – and then back down the ladder.

Two pax got all the way through the ladder back down.  Most got into or through the 400’s on the way back down.  We left about 2 minutes at the end for a few stretches until the 6:00 bell!

Circle of Trust

The COT Focused on a lesson learned from a book called How Successful People Grow by John Maxwell.  One lesson in particular in the book focuses on the need to shift thinking from the question “Can I” to the question “How Can I”.

“Can I” thinking automatically creates limits for us – Most people don’t give themselves a chance at things, don’t test their limits.  “How Can I” assumes there is a way to push our capacity, we just need to find it.  The book offers three strategies to change this thinking.

  1. Stop doing only the things you have done before and start doing the things you should and could do.
  2. Stop doing what is expected – start doing more than what is expected.
  3. Stop doing important things occasionally and start doing them daily.

With this in mind, go challenge yourself to push through a barrier you may have set for yourself.  This run club was all about seeing how we can push ourselves just a little bit harder than perhaps we have previously.

Naked Man Moleskin

Great push by a really solid group of PAX this morning.
