Introduction
Wednesday’s at the ridge has been a staple of my running journey. Lot’s of experienced runners here, several good options for routes and types of run. I needed mile repeats so I EC ran the loop while doing a tempo run and set-up the mile.
Warm-O-Rama
Early Warm-up at 5:10 so the faster dude could get 3-4 reps and the slowskis could get 2-3. I personally needed 2. We did some basic staionary warm-ups such as goodmornings and hairy rockets before lining up for a singer style across the floors with opening and closing of the gates. NO MOTIVATORS(WTF does motivators before a run club.
Then we mosey’d about a quarter mile to the start.
The Thang
Thang was mile repeats starting at the base of the park and running along the out loop for a mile. 2 minutes rest in between and then headed back. In a perfect world I wanted a straight shot but this was about a good as it gets with very little elevation change and only a couple of curbs to navigate.
Circle of Trust
I talked about legacy. Brian Bullock reminds us that legacy isn’t about our first name — it’s about our last. The first name is just you in this moment, but the last name carries generations. Don’t focus on making Robert or Jorge or John rich; focus on making Sanchez, Cisneros, or Marlovits strong. Build something that outlives you — a name your children and their children can stand on. Every rep, every choice, every hard thing we do isn’t just for us — it’s for the kingdom we’re building with our last name stamped on it.
Naked Man Moleskin
We prayed for the fact that there have been a number of notable deaths recently. Pedestrians, family members, community members etc. seems alot. I pray for their souls and hope they knew the LORD.
