Circle of Trust

I have a long winded short story.

I have a childhood friend that I grew up with, our parents were close friends. His parents became my god parents and when I had my first child I asked my friend to Baptize my daughter, so we became Compadres. Well about 5 years ago he decided to move down to Texas, he was tired of the cold winters and wanted to get an early start of living in a warm place for when he retires. I didn’t hear from him until after his first year of living down there, I’m assuming getting settled in and enjoying the new surroundings. But when I heard from him I could tell that something was off. He consistently suggested that I pick up my family and also move down there. He was initially trying to sell me on the weather, the career opportunities, spoke about the motorcycle routes and just how Austin, TX was an up and coming destination. He went out and bought a Harley Davidson, but then joins a Honda Goldwing Motorcycle Club?? I started realizing that he wasn’t selling me on the location and the things to do down there but more that he was missing something. He moved down there without knowing anyone in the area and now he was seeking what he was missing, family and friends. After I joined F3 I immediately thought of him, I thought about how F3 filled a missing void in my life so I EH’d him to join F3 down in Texas. Like most people he said it was too early and he was not going to wake up to workout at 5:15. About 2 months ago we were on the phone, I asked how he was doing and he spoke about having an emotional breakdown. He didn’t know if it was depression or what, but he just broke down and started crying uncontrollably into his wife’s arms and he couldn’t explain why. I pleaded with him again, and told him, dude, do me this favor and just go to ONE F3 boot camp, if you don’t like it you can tell me to fuck off and I won’t ask you again.

Later that night he texts me and says you’re not going to believe this, but F3 meets in my subdivision, about a 15 minute walk from my house, I just emailed them and told them I’m interested in going. I asked him when he was planning on going and he said the next day, I didn’t hesitate, reached out to the Nantan and let him know an FNG would be at that location the next morning.

The next day I called him in the afternoon to see how it went. Immediately he tells me, I fucked up. I was like, WHAT? What did you do? What happened???

His response: “I should have done this 2 years ago when you first told me about it.” This is what I’ve been looking for, this is what I’ve been missing.

I followed up 2 weeks later to see how he’s been doing, he told me that he’s still going and that he’s brought out 3 FNG’s since joining and continues to EH coworkers and his motorcycle community.

Men, whether you know what another man is going through or not, continue to give this gift away.

Naked Man Moleskin

Awesome AAR was given – I should have taken extra time to explain the team competition.  There was a bit of confusion on who was competing with who and the timing was off on when the pairs were to begin.  The exercises and movements where good as everyone kept moving but it could have been organized better.

Great suggestion was to have a relay race between two even teams.  I will definetely take the suggestions and make adjustments on the next one.
