Introduction
Abraham Lincoln was born on this day in 1809, so this black diamond was designed all around him.
Warm-O-Rama
Jog in place while I went over the introduction and disclaimer.
SSH OYO while I went over the F3 mission, core principles, and credo.
Motivators from 5, WMH with arm reach, TIE fighters, and Burpee Motivators from 5.
Broomstick as the siteQ then got the count and went over the safety stuff.
The Thang
Thang 1: About a 1.5-mile slingshot down Liberty Grove Blvd with 4 stops along the way for 16 burpees (Abe was the 16th president and we did 64 burpees total as he was the tallest President at 6’4″).
Thang 2: Lincoln Games Dora. Each set of partners will move 40k pounds combined, which is 185 reps of the following 6 exercises (OHP, squats, curls, chest press, rows, skull crushers). One partner does the coupon exercise AMRAP while the other partner does 16 civil wars (WWI with a cross heel tap) and switch.
Thang 3: 87 step-ups (or as many as you can do until 6am) to match the 87 steps at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC for the Gettysburg Address (Four score and 7 years ago).
Circle of Trust
Dauber did a President’s Day Q once where he said to go out and try to learn something about these significant people on their holidays, and that stuck with me, so I challenged everyone to do the same. I finished by reading Lincoln’s famous Gettysburg address.
Naked Man Moleskin
Pull-up did a similar Dora for a black diamond that was one of the hardest workouts I’ve ever done. Also, Dilly Dilly did an MLK facts workout recently that I sort of mimicked for this workout. It was fun to see a bunch of PAX write down some fun Lincoln facts on slack after the workout. Thanks Broomstick for having our 6 today.
