Introduction
It was a beautiful morning as I strolled into the Ridge at a cool 56 degrees. A large gaggle of PAX were waiting for Skidmark to give the men their EC route for the day. I passed them by to get my Run Club set up which I could tell made some men uneasy about the “unexpected” to come.
After arrival back to the AO the numbers continued to grow & I was humbled to see many of the OG men that I started my F3 journey with from Naperville, along with the men that started the very same day I did 3 years ago, as well as men that have just started their F3 journey.
I quickly snapped out of my reminiscing & we got to work!

Life is a journey not a destination. 3 years of F3. This morning I rode my bike over to the park at Grande Park at 5:15 AM for a mens only group workout called F3 (Fitness-Fellowship-Faith) & my 1st official post. It was unique with a bunch of verbiage & talk I had no idea what was going on. A man by the nickname of TPS Report Q’d the workout, he was the first one to greet me & seemed like a pretty good & genuine guy. We ran over to the Grande Park bridge & did a bunch of military style exercises & then did some crazy partner pushups & then ran back to the hill where we had to run up backwards. Crazy! The workout ended with a “Circle of Trust” where TPS shared a strong personal message then after the new FNG’s had to get in the middle & tell everyone a little bit about themselves. After hearing my story Urquel F3 named me “Dilly Dilly” ironically b/c I hate BL. We then prayed & it ended. It was a hard workout & enjoyed the brotherhood. I think I will like this it feels different than what I have done in the past.
That fateful morning when I got out of my comfort zone to ride my bike to this very spot which would change my life forever. I spent my 1st year learning about F3: starting with “Get Right” through the fitness, then I started to “Live Right” by engaging in the 2nd F & reading/applying the Q-Source in my life. Eventually I was given the opportunity to “Lead Right” by being a Site Q & then having the distinct opportunity to help launch our current region. When I thought I retired as Nant’an I was presented another opportunity to “Lead Right” by taking on the role of National Expansion Q helping other men accomplish what we did here in Plainfield by launching their own local regions. There have been struggles & challenges along the way physically & mentally where at times I failed. Things that would require me to get out of my comfort zone but ultimately all of them, the wins & failures, helped me to be a better man & leader in my community. This past weekend was a bit of a “Leave Right” moment for me as I Coached my sons 8-year-old football team. After the game I had several parents comment to me how well our coaching staff led the kids with encouragement & positive reinforcement. It reminded me that this is what F3 is about. Taking the head knowledge that we have learned & applying it through heart knowledge by giving it away to others. Influencing others around us & providing male community leadership. My challenge to all of you men is to embrace the journey & continue paving the 43 feet. If you have been around a while, it is time to push outside of your comfort zone & if you are new embrace the journey.
