The Thang
Bike ride through Mather woods paved path to Settler’s park, through Electric Park, changed plans and went over and across the bridge towards The Colosseum, took the path to Renwick Rd. crossed the street following the path south to Streams Recreational Center before turning around.
Came back through same path, returned with 5 minutes to spare, had the group do a final loop around Mather Woods, finished with 30 seconds to spare.
Circle of Trust
I was watching a video where a young man is lifting weights and his friend compliments him on the weight that he is lifting. The young man lifting says, it’s not that impressive. His friend then responds with the phrase “comparison is the thief of joy” “you can’t compare yourself to others, who cares how much other’s can lift.” The phrase is attributed to President Roosevelt, it’s a sentiment that conveys the idea that constantly comparing ourselves to others can undermine our happiness and lead to feelings of inadequacy, dissatisfaction, inferiority, or superiority. So when we are out here working out, keep that phrase in mind guage your progress from where you started and where you are. Don’t compare yourselves to what others can or cannot do, yes, push yourself and use others for motivation but don’t compare yourself to others.
Naked Man Moleskin
I wish I had time to scout the off road trails through the woods to implement as part of the bike ride. My initial plan was to do some slingshot riding during the long stretches but we had a few PAX that hadn’t ridden in a while so I kept it simple instead, pushing the pace at times so that everyone got a good ride in. Also, I deviated from the initial route as we came to the electric park/colloseum bridge with too much time left on the clock. At one point, I called out a jail break and Hot Lava smoked us all!
