Introduction
Might have been one of the muggiest mornings this summer, felt like the air was as thick as phlegm… As I arrived at the AO several PAX were coming back from EC run, and they were drenched. Vern and I had our plans and Scat was prepped on what was going to take place today. I grabbed my basketballs and headed toward the court to drop them off, Vern made his way to the flags, by the time I met up with him and the others I was already sweating.. oh man this is going to be fun.
Warm-O-Rama
Scat led us through WOR, Motivators, Arm Circles, Good Mornings were on tap and I think we did some Arm Circles too.
The Thang
Vern was first. His beatdown was a team based competition with the PAX in pairs. We counted off in 8’s ad each number found their pair. We then moseyed to the light pole with our coupons. There were multiple exercises listed in pairs on a sheet, each set ended with a run (half, full or 2laps) and points assigned for completion. The pair PAX worked together to complete the exercise then ran together. The team with the most points at the end won. Great workout, felt smoked after.
I was second to go and I too had a team based competition. I divided the pax by twos to form teams, each team grabbed a basketball and head to their side of the court. The competition: One member of the team must make a free throw while the other hold plank. First to team to have all PAX make their free throw wins. Once done, we all lined up on the baseline, to run ladders. The winning team did squats, while the losing team did burpees.. starting with 1 and increasing after return from each line (free throw, half court, other free throw, and furthest baseline). Once completed we counted off by twos again, rinse and repeat. We made it through three rounds before time ran out.
Circle of Trust
Announcements were read for the Slack Channel, prayers for those recovering from injury/surgery, for the moms of some PAX still dealing with health issues, Goose for his surgery this morning, the unspoken burdens that are on our hearts and minds.. Father take this requests, carry our burdens and help us to feel your presence in our lives.
Naked Man Moleskin
Vern talked about F3 being more than a workout group. The relationships being built are ones that probably never would have occurred without F3.
I echoed Vern’s comments and added that we are all here to support each other, ITG or outside of it. I’m sure that if anyone in the circle needed a hand and reached out, we would respond, so don’t be afraid to ask for help.
