Introduction
There was an open Q spot at The Wood to lead a Run Club. YHC needed some mileage for a couple of Monthly May Challenges….so why not. Just Do!
Warm-O-Rama
Several of the PAX including YHC had either already completed a 3-4 mile EC run and others were moseying around the parking lot. Warm up consisted of some SSH, Side Shuffles, Bernie Sanders, Butt Kickers, and High Knees
The Thang
This was the ol’ Out and Back. The PAX were given a few instructions such as watching out for traffic as we would be crossing (twice) Jefferson Street which can be a busy road in the gloom. The route took the PAX around the pond and then connected to Wynstone Road where we ran north to the end of the road and then returned to the main parking lot. A few PAX completed the route and then YHC lead them towards the entrance and then decided to run up the ridge of the hill and then back to the main parking lot where everyone ran around in circles for a few minutes until Mary at 0555
Circle of Trust
Announcements were read. TAPs went out to Hitchiker and his recovery and also to provide us MEN courage to hold the middle and Just Do!
Naked Man Moleskin
Short message today: A few PAX have over the past week mentioned the “If Not Me Then Who” quote which is taken from a deceased military veteran, Travis Manion. This quote is not new to me and has resonated with YHC for many years. In fact, this quote is etched not only in my mind, but also on the measuring board I use to measure fish when I competitively fish in my kayak. This quote also aligns with the message I had in my my preblast….”We can either do stuff we don’t like to do or go bring F3 to more doorsteps to the Men in the area that don’t mind running or doing hard things You can go slow, you can go fast, you do you!, Just DO!!!!!” The point YHC is trying to drive home is get out of your head, don’t’ just be a consumer, go give this gift away….go DO something. What are you waiting for? Thanks to the 5 other DO’ers this morning!
