COT: Choose to be better. I’m currently going through some family turmoil with my father. Even though it’s not the first time, it is forcing me to again look closely at him as a man. I am disappointed. I see his actions and words and wonder why isn’t he better? To his wife, to his family, to the world? I have struggled with this as I have grown up; fighting what was ingrained during childhood as it’s easier for many to just follow in those learned paths. But I want to try to grow to be a better man, spouse and father in the hopes that my son doesn’t see me through the eyes of an adult and feel the same disappointment that I feel now.
