Introduction

This was not one of my better Qs as what I had planned did not go exactly the way I had wanted it to go. However, in the end we still did move some weight at a pretty fast pace and covered over 2 miles at a ruck club.

Warm-O-Rama

We did a warm up lap across the parking lot and went over our core principals, mission and credo.

Imperial Walkers

The Thang

I had split the HCs into two groups before everyone arrived and we were divided in our teams during WoR. At the conclusion of WoR we have a few minutes to get ourselves organized and pick up our sandbags and be prepared to move.

The thangwas to race out 1 mile as fast as you could as a team while carrying all of the sandbags and then return back to the flags.

Circle of Trust

Talked about the suicide screening program that my school ran yesterday and the impact it had not only on me but also my students. We screened every student in our building with a brief depression screener after they had a presentation in which they learn the A.C.T. message( Acknowledge, Care, Tell). It is a very long day and there are a lot of emotions flowing for both the students and staff during this day. The message is a strong one and it takes its toll on the students and my team that supports them during the follow up interviews. I have said this numerous times before. Continue to check in with your kids, friends and family. Mental health is more prevalent now then ever before and we just hosted a forum for adults last night as a 3rd F event. Make sure to reach out to someone and see how they are doing. If something does not seem right I will share the same message I share with my students. Acknowledge the thoughts or feelings that someone else is having, Care about the person, and tell someone so that they can get assistance that they need.

Naked Man Moleskin

As I had stated this did not go fully as planned. In my mind the race idea would keep us all moving and force us to stay warm and keep up. Unfortunately we are a bunch of competitive men and we took off and left some brothers behind. We did regroup and did a better job the rest of the way out and we all came back to the flags together as a unit of two teams. However, we failed at first on our credo of leaving no man behind. If this was an event we would have all severely paid with PT for what happened when we started.
