Introduction

The parking lot was packed as I rolled in with BD in the front lot, SLT out on a ruck, & several men doing EC prior to my BC.  Being out of the gloom these past few weeks made me smile just a little bit brighter as I have missed this fellowship & acceleration & was good to sit on display this morning!

CoT: Is it just a Number?

  • Tomorrow, I will turn 47. Not significant in the world of 40 or 50 or 60 but significant for me. 47 was the age my dad passed away. A milestone in my life I have been looking at & as I have come closer & closer, I continue to ask myself more & more.  Have I & am I doing enough?  A great father?  A good husband?  A leader others look to?  Do I act what I preach in areas of importance to me like my faith?  It is a stout reminder to me of the shortness in life as this will be 30 years since my dad passed away.  One reason I ventured out on this journey to do a marathon for the first time this weekend.  A symbolic gesture that I can/will do hard things, to show my kids anything is possible & to prove to myself I am capable of anything I set my mind to.  I ask you men, “Is your age just a number?  Does it have more meaning?  Does it matter if it is a milestone or not?”  Don’t wait any longer to make an impact on others b/c you do not know if that number is guaranteed to go up tomorrow.  Aye!
