Introduction

Temp was 48 degrees and a bit chilly but felt great. A nice prelude to what’s ahead weather-wise. I got there about 4:50 to set up. Vern and Skidmark were setting off on a 1.5 mile EC run and I joined them for the first 1/2 mile so I could place a cone at the 1/2 mile mark for when we ran the mile.

Thanks to my M, who has way more artistic ability then me, all the exercises were neatly written out on a white board.

Warm-O-Rama

There was no traditional Warm-o-Rama today. Instead, I had everyone stertch out on their own as I welcomed the PAX and went through the disclaimer. I demonstrated a few of the not-so-familiar exercises as Vern read off the exercises, the counts, and the order. We ended up starting the beatdown a few seconds late – my bad.

Circle of Trust

Referencing Quatro’s COT from Saturday, I started off by reading James 1:19, “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry”. I am personally guilty of all three of these, but what weighs on my concience most is my quick-trigger ability to become angry at the mot insignifcant things. I shared that in the past week I became verbally angry when I could not get my VPN to connect at work and when my car radio was slow to respond. Quatro’s message was about finding joy in life and my petty anger prevents me from living the most joyful life possible. It’s something I now concsiously take note of and when this feeling comes upon me I take a deep breath, say a quick prayer, and let the moment pass. Every one of us has come up short in all three of these traits, some with lesser, some with greater consistency. I challenged all of us to recognize where we fail to live up to these expectations and heed James’ plea.

Naked Man Moleskin

Thanks to Scat for having my 6. Thanks to Vern for helping me review and demonstrate the exercises. Thanks to my M for writing down the exercises. Thanks to all the PAX that came out today and pushed themselves to get better.
