Was a stormy day before and had some mist in the morning. Was hoping the rain would hold up and it did.

Hub was on playground we did Kettle Swings 10-15, 20-25 OHP, 10-15 Upright Rows, 20-25 Curls and 5-10 We’re Not Worthy’s
Run to batting cages for station 1. We did 25 Dips 20 Irkins and 10 Dirkins. Run back to Hub
Repeat Hub
Run to concessions to lunge around there. Then Squat Step ups to 20. Run back to Hub
Repeat Hub
Run to big lot by fire station. Start on one end do set of Abs then bear crawl to next island until we got all the way across the lot. We did big boys, mountain climbers and flutter kicks. Run back to Splash Station.
Use the short wall to perform 30 dips then 20 squat box jumps. Run back to Hub for Mary.
Mary was 2 sets. Set 1 was 10 shoulder taps, 10 plank jacks, 10 PeterParker’s all in cadence. Round 2 was level 2 all the same but we did mountain climbers in place of plank jacks.

PTSD Awareness month. Definition : Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a psychiatric disorder that may occur in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event, series of events or set of circumstances. An individual may experience this as emotionally or physically harmful or life-threatening and may affect mental, physical, social, and/or spiritual well-being. Examples include natural disasters, serious accidents, terrorist acts, war/combat, rape/sexual assault, historical trauma, intimate partner violence and bullying.
Spoke about 9 heartbreaking facts of foster care as I work in this arena. Gave pax the challenge to be aware and talk to someone if they are dealing with things on their own as well.
1. There are over 400,000 kids in foster care in the US.
2. Kids in foster care suffer from PTSD at twice the rate of returning war veterans.
3. Only 55% of teens in foster care graduated from high school in 2020.
4. Children can experience 8 or more misplacements while in foster care.
5. 50% of youth who age out of foster care will become homeless in the first 4 years.
6. Up to 80% of children in FC struggle with a mental health condition.
7. Less than 3% of youth who age out of FC will earn a college degree.
8. Only 1/2 of kids who age out of FC achieve gainful employment by the age 24.
9. On average, a child enters FC every 150 seconds in the USA.
