The Thang

1.75 mile Slingshot run heading south on River to Vertin then back North to the path an Flags/ AO

From the flags to the backstop in the field 26 flying V sprints as a group. Abby spent 26 days in the hospital so each sprint represented one day. Totaled 2 miles

1 mile partner accountability run towards Westmere heading left on Emerald Point to Dunkin’ and back around the church and schools to the flags

2 more sprints because with hospital stays when you think you are done sometimes you are not.

Mary – 26 WW1’s, Alphabet Leg Lifts and 2 Fox Hole merkin’s until 6

Circle of Trust

I’m not going to detail out our and Abby’s story here as a lot of that is in my heart and was shared out this morning with the 7 other PAX. I did want to highlight Abby’s first year of life and share not only what we have learned from her but also how much joy, positivity and love she brings us.

Abby was almost lost during pregnancy, she was almost lost at birth and then almost lost two additional times after she was born. She’s battled a rare gentic disorder in Galactosemia (which I learn more about daily), she’s battled open heart surgery to repair a VSD and Bilateral Pyramidal Conical Cateracts surgery. She continues with daily challenges as well as has conquered a feeding tube, developmenal delays and even vision with having contacts and no eye lenses. As of today, she still sees 13 different specialists to help with her growth and development.

In all of this it is clear that Abby is meant to be here. God trusted my M, her big sister and I the opportunity to care for Abby and we have been all in since day 1. The happiness, hope and positivity that she brings us daily is infectous. I attempt to bottle that up and share that out with F3, family, coworkers and those in our community because that energy is overflowing. If Abby has taught us anything is that there is always joy to be found in every situation. Every struggle is unique and shouldn’t be compared to others. The true spirit of the warrior is not the struggle/ issue at hand but it is how we react to that situation placed in front of us.

Happiest 1st Birthday Abby!

Aye!

Naked Man Moleskin

F3 has been Team Abby since day 1. The amount of love, support and energy given to our family from July 8, 2021 onward has been humbling. If you don’t believe there are good people in this world then you haven’t made the effort to see how amazing the people around you are.

Run Club was humbling today. We pressed the pace but there was no quit in anyone. Blue Gill yelled out during sprints that we aren’t fighting for our lives here, it’s just running. It’s true, we are lucky to be able to do this. I’ll always remember that when the tank is running empty. 4.5+ miles for 8 PAX at a Run Club, settling the standard and bar high.

Storm Chaser EC’ing and getting an additional 3 miles to break 7.5+ for the day. Inspirational.

Coffeeteria at DD and I walk in and see Bunker and Second Best. Simply went out of their way to wish Abby a Happy Birthday, that’s HIM stuff. PAX reaching out over the last 24 hours to wish Abby a HBD and offer support, HIM stuff.

Win.The.Day.
