Circle of Trust

I want to start with this quote, “If you can get 1% better each day for one year, you’ll end up 37 times better by the time you’re done.”

It’s easy to get stuck in the mindset of a goal or task is so overwhelming that it seems impossible.  Exercise or diet or weight loss can seem insurmountable.  Or getting ahead financially or going after a career goal  I found myself stuck in that rut for years from a financial standpoint.  Over the last few months I am taking the 1% approach towards all areas in my life.  Financially I’m going through the budget and have trimmed out about $100-150 per month of random subscriptions for tv, music and other things not essential.  IT wasn’t anything huge.  Most were a few bucks a month but they add up.  I do Doordash a few times a week and teach extra bootcamp fitness classes.  Between the saving and extra income I have ended up with about an extra $600 a month that wasn’t there before.  1 % better each day and each month.  That mindset is huge.  You can apply that in any area of your life.  From a fitness standpoint, I could barely get through the workouts and then kept focusing on doing a little better each time.  I started doing short EC runs that were a lap around the parking lot and then two laps then 5 minutes then 10 and so forth.  1% better each day.I went from the guy who used to run the long races 10 years ago and was struggling finishing the workout to doing Ragnar, grow ruck and a half and full marathon in a 4 month period last year.

My challenge to you is to think about an area that you want to improve in your life.  Fitness, money or whatever and then break it down in small bits.  1% better each day.  Come up with a plan and break it out in small pieces.  If you want to get in shape, make it a habit to workout regularly.  I work out everyday.  The days that I need a rest from here, I still do thew exercise bike and stretch at home.  Even if you aren’t feeling super pumped for a workout in the morning.  Think about it.  You are at least 1% better for coming out in the morning and trying.
