Introduction

When I don’t think I am getting challenged by something I make it more challenging.  I have been at Qs where I do more than what is asked just to satisfy what I need.  I have led workouts where Men are seemingly barely trying.  By design, I wanted to make sure the exercises would challenge all that attended so, I asked in the pre blast, what is your favorite, “that really sucked” exercise.  I was not struggling to come up with ideas, I wasn’t looking to recreate anything from previous Diamonds, I was attempting to gain assurance.  I wanted to be able to confirm that this was going to be really challenging for all that attended and my questioning and feedback, I think, allowed me to do so.

Warm-O-Rama

Welcomed Men and began with thigh stretches.  As we stretched thighs, I got into the disclaimer.  Tappy Taps,.  Abe Vigodas, (Arm CIrcuit for heavy shoulder and chest work that was coming…. Men held arms up through) Arm Circles forward and back, Seal Claps, Overhead Claps, Grady Corns, Pretzel Shoulder Taps, and Moroccan Night Clubs.  Recited the Credo and began to move from the circle.  Recovered and ended WoR with the first Man I wanted to honor.  We did a Coupon Mosey for Pi.  Jogging around the lot with our coupons, I explained what a Champagne Indian Run is and the exercises to do with it. Ended by reciting the 5 core principles of F3.  Once back to a similar spot we circled up to complete honoring Pi.  We did 25 blockees OYO.

The Thang

Thang 1

Champagne Style Indian Run down Wynstone to Seil and back to the entrance to the Wood.  (A little over a mile)  I heard about this from Foreclosure who did these with Sparkler.  We did this style Indian Run to honor Sparkler.  Men popped off the front of the line with a 5 second sprint, stepped to the side, performed 3 burpees, and rejoined the group at the back of the line.  We stayed together.  By the fire station and entrance to the Wood, We circled up for 5 burpees.  We did a prisoner indian run back to the back lot.  Thang 1 was kind of an AO Pearls.  Chum Bucket mentioned Pull Ups so we stopped at the pull up bar to honor him next.  At the Pull Up bar, I asked our group of 7 to perform 70 pull ups cumulatively.  We were on the honor system.  If you were not doing pull ups at the 2 person Max bars you were AMRAPing Big Boys.  Once done, we completed that Prisoner Indian Run back.  Once back at our blocks we completed 25 Thrusters OYO to honor Pull Up.  Pull Up regretted not saying Star Gazers. That was the moving part of the beatdown.

Thang 2 – Pavilion Work

Chest came first.  We did 10 sets of Irkins and Dips from reps of 10 down to 1.  We then did 10 Mountain Merkins to honor Soft Hands.  10 Mountain Merkins is 30 Merkins in all actuality.  Once complete we ran to the end of the parking lot and almost back to the pavilion.  In front of the pavilion we performed 25 Burpees OYO.  This completed chest.  We moved into the pavilion for seven stations.  The stations were Legs and Shoulder Muscle groups. I incorporated some light dumbbells and a kettlebell for the flys.  Leg stations were single left leg squat to bench and back up, right leg, and Goblet squats.  The shoulders were Coupon Shrugs, Dumbbell Iron Cross Flies, Kettlebell Forward Flies, and Farmer Carries halfway down the lot and back.  Everything was AMRAPped and dependent on the amount of time it took on the Farmer Carry.  Everyone did every station.  This cut into my plan for Mary but…. I felt it was important to at least do everything once.

Mary was going to be 25 Blockees.  Instead we did 5 and held plank.  Once done we ended with a 3 count Merkin Ring of fire.

Circle of Trust

I talked a bit about what I am hearing…, People complaining that either Qs aren’t hard enough or people are showing up and not pushing to 100%.  I believe both are on the Men in attendance.  If you don’t show up for easy, don’t push yourself, than you should be harder on yourself.  Men around you should be calling you up and out.  I created this beatdown with the assurance that it would be hard because we performed all exercises that people in attendance said would be hard.  I asked all the HIMs in attendance to help with the rigors and standards of F1 and to begin helping those around them in the gloom get to 100% effort if they were not there.  We don’t have to succeed in everything in life but we do have to try!  LFG!!!!!

Naked Man Moleskin

During 25 oyo burpees to end chest, one person started saying I can barely do 1 Merkin…. lol.  That same person ended up pushing though the 25 burpees.  I couldn’t honor Yellow Card and feel bad for it.  He said “Backward Crab Walk with a Rucksack.”  In this scenario, We didn’t have the right gear.  No one had rucksacks and I couldn’t figure out how to build something comparable into the plan that I already had in place.

Yellow Card did mention that he was humbled so I do feel good about that.  Good work all!
