Introduction

The lights at the Griz are always on.  It made set up pretty easy.  I was looking forward to seeing Ozark and Firehose.  There were only two Men that committed to this mornings hour long beatdown and I hadn’t seen or talked to either one in sometime so I knew I’d have the chance to catch up.

Bootcamp being an hour long.  I was also excited to Q it just before my upcoming Black Diamond Q.  It made my day when Firehouse said, “I didn’t know I was showing up for a Diamond.” Once we were done.  Ozark said, “You can do a lot in an hour.”

The Thang

Leave Coupons by the band shell and begin Thang 1.

Thang 2 is a combination of Leg Movements and Coupon work at the band shell.

Leave Coupons by the band shell and mosey to the first cone.  Reverse lunge up to the second cone and then Bernie Sanders to the third cone.  Smurf Jacks at the top of the hill (10 in Cadence) Jog back down to Cone 1.  This will be called “leg movements.”

Thang 2 Start Coupon work/Leg movements and Rinse and Repeat until 4 minutes before Mary.

Coupon Work began with 10 Blockees, Continued with 15 Thrusters, Firehose Led us through Thrusters, Coupon Swings, Ozark picked the Rep Counts, Bent Over Rows, and Colt 45’s. We ended up going up and down the hill 7 times and doing 6 different Coupon exercises.  I switched to OYO Smurf Jacks till 10.  Ozark said, “They’re harder in Cadence when the Q calls a slow count.”   Ozark was obliged, that was exactly what I did to end the last rep.

Mary – Captain Thors to 5 and Big Boys till 7:30

Circle of Trust

This beatdown was about finding balance through different things going on and different hats and roles that we routinely need to play and the necessity to find balance through all of this.  Thang 1 was intended to reflect life by compiling more exercises on top of the first one every time we stopped.  We all have a lot going on and when things get compiled we just have to work through them.  Thang 2 reflected life by having a ton of things that were expected to get done and how making lists are typically the best way to do it.  When we create lists we organize are thoughts, our things to do,… (our exercises).  This helps create balance.  It isn’t the act of creating a list that I enjoy as much as working through the list and ultimately crossing the things off.  I ended C.O.T.  with asking both Men to consider what they do to form balance in life.  We took a few moments of silence to reflect on this and any prayer intentions.

Naked Man Moleskin

Chum Bucket introduced me to the Inch Worm at a boot camp.  I found it challenging to keep balance throughout the exercise.  I found it necessary to work in to a boot camp that was thematically based on this.

Ozark brought Bailey’s Cream for Coffeeteria!
