Introduction

Performed recon the night before.  Parking lot was a mess with lots of ice.  Pathway was completely iced over.  Plan all along was to play F3 baseball but in the parking lot, so playing on the baseball field was perfect.  Updated preblast to park as close to the field as possible to minimize walking on the parking lot.  Also specifically stated not to walk on the paved path and to walk in the snow to the baseball field.

The Thang

F3 Baseball

Each team had to complete the number of assigned reps before advancing to the next base.  Reps could be shared if needed.  1 point earned after your team rounded all the bases.

Split into 4 teams

Every team started with 5 Burpees before heading to their base and had to do 5 burpees after each trip around the bases as well.

  • Team 1 – First Base – WW1’s – 60 reps
  • Team 2 – Second Base – Merkins – 60 reps
  • Team 3 – Third Base – Leg Raises – 60 reps
  • Team 4 – Fourth Base – Coupon Curl Press – 60 reps

Finished the Q with a run around the perimeter of the baseball field and shoulder burner (Arm circles fwd/rvs, Grady corns, moroccon night clubs, Michael Phelps)

Circle of Trust

For my CoT, I wanted to share my motto which is, if you’re going to do something, do it once and do it right the first time.  This can be applied to pretty much anything, work, home projects, etc.  I’ve always lived by this motto, specifically when working around the house, but this came to fruition for me last week at work.  I’m a Network Engineer, our company has a small foot print, so we do not have service vendors, typically I will dispatch to new locations for site builds, where I’ll order network hardware, configure, mount, rack, cable and test all of the network. Last year our IT Facilities team no longer wanted to deal with managing the UPS battery backups, and because now they had a network card installed in them they considered it a “network device” and asked us to manage and maintain it.  Obviously these devices do not last forever, well with last weeks extreme weather we lost one of the UPS’s and I had to head out to replace it.  Well when I arrived onsite, there were 4 dead UPS’s stacked on top of each other, these things weigh approx. 50lbs each, so not only was it irresponsible but this was also a hazard if they were to tip over.  Instead of our Facilities team retrieving them and properly recycling them they were left there and everyone that went before me continued to stack them.  Living by my motto, I grabbed all of them and loaded them in the back of my truck.

My message to all the PAX is again, if you’re going to do something, do it right the first time.  This can even be applied to leading a Q, preparing yourself by either memorizing or writing down the Core principles, the mission and creedo and properly reciting them.

Naked Man Moleskin

Men stay safe out there, if possible perform a recon, notify the PAX and alter your plans as needed.
