Introduction
Man my quads were still on fire from some recent beatdowns. Good thing we were running this morning and would be using more of the posterior chain then quads.
Warm-O-Rama
Started out with some SSHs, then moved into some dynamic stretching that included butt-kickers, high knees, side shuffles and side leg raises
The Thang
Was on the fence of doing a Scout Run, Out/Back/ or a mix of something so told the PAX the route and what time to be back at the flags. It was up to the PAX to determine what they felt like doing this morning. The entire route was 4 miles total. The route took the PAX through Whispering Woods across Heggs, Left at Skyline Drive, Right on Prairie Ponds Drive, Left on blacktop path (crossing Pastoral Drive) to 127th St (Northwest Community Park) and back. Wrapped up with a few minutes of stretching. Recover, Recover.
Circle of Trust
Meta was the 6 this fine morning. Announcements were read and AAR was appreciated. AAR takeaway – In addition to providing the route verbally, its a good idea to post route in preblast especially if its a route less traveled.
My COT theme was about Excuses. Started off mentioning that we all have them and we all use them. I listed a few recent ones I’ve had going through my brain and then asked each PAX (by first name: Ryan, Jeff, Tom, Jorge, Pete, Jeremy, Jeff, Joe, Roberto, Tom, Matt, Bobby, Kevin, Joel) to provide an excuse they use or have heard. After all the PAX provided input, I mentioned the David Goggins vs Goggins mindset. In a nutshell, David Goggins created sort of a persona and called it Goggins. So when those excuses or limitations start creeping in his mind, he turns into Goggins (who basically doesn’t make excuses and doesn’t set limitations). The takeaway for the PAX was that when we find ourselves coming up with excuses, letting those excuses win, setting limitations on ourselves, etc. Ask yourself in those moments what your F3 persona would do. What would Dilly Dilly do, what would Mr. Belding do, what would Hank Hill do, what would Meta do, what would John Denver do, what would Cinderella do, what would Mr. Kotter do, what would Toboggan do, what would Six Sheets do, what would Hackman do, what would Boston Butt do, what would Skidmark do, what would Hat Trick do, what would Blue Gill do? No excuses!
Naked Man Moleskin
Appreciate all the Men that joined YHC in the gloom this morning. Beautiful weather. From my perspective there was much effort put out by the PAX. Congrats to Hank Hill on his longest non-stop run. Don’t let him fool you, he’s a runner. Thanks to Meta for grabbing the 6 and to Dilly Dilly and Mr. Drippy for providing the coffee (and creamer 🙂 )
