Circle of Trust

Talking to my oldest daughter (in Phoenix) last night, she mentioned how all her roommates always hear about what a great dad she has. So I asked her to tell me why, and I would use that for my COT. I didn’t read her answer until the COT, where (no surprise) I lost it a couple times. Here’s what she said,

”- you always put all of your family before yourself (mom and us kids)
– you are consistent in our lives.
– you ask us questions, encourage us and always point us to Jesus
– you tell us when your proud of
us
– you lead us so well. you teach us Gods word and are a great example of His love to all of us
– you are empathetic and passionate
– you go out of your way to help us kids
– you do things that are not required of you, but because you care
– you show your emotions which make it easier for me to show mine
– you have a special relationship with each of your kids. you spend time doing what each kid loves to do, even if it wouldn’t be your first choice”

I encourage everyone to ask their kids to write a COT for them as well.
