Introduction

Day 4 of Dragon Clan week, and it also happens to be my 21st wedding anniversary, which will tie perfectly into my CoT about devotion.  We planted flags and circled up in the lot just NW of the track so we wouldn’t get in the way of the standard boot camp in the normal AO location.

Warm-O-Rama

Balance holds while I went over the introduction, disclaimer, F3 mission, core principles, and credo.

Extended world’s greatest stretch.

SiteQ Foreclosure went over the count and safety stuff, and then we moseyed to the track.

The Thang

Thang 1: Split into two groups for a one-mile slingshot race around the track.  Lane 1 was the fast group and Lane 8 was the faster group.  Lane 8 is an extra 200 meters over the one mile.

Thang 2: After a quick demo of some of the lesser known exercises, we jumped into the Death by Skinny Chummer (similar format as IronPAX 2022 Death by Skinny Runner).

Round 1: 21 egg roll burpees, 21 gas pumpers, 50 jump rope, run a lap

Round 2: 21 block over merkins, 21 scissor kicks, 50 jump rope, run a lap

Round 3: 21 dragon thrusters, 21 flutter kicks, 50 jump rope, run a lap

Round 4: 21 jungle boy squats, 21 leg raises, 50 jump rope, run a lap

Round 5: 21 Bonnie Blairs, 21 big boys, 50 jump ropes, run a lap

When finished, do a Welsh Dragon on the hill until time is called.  Whoever gets the farthest will be declared the honorary Welsh Dragon of the group (Just Dance).

Mary: Tennis ball smash.  Q starts off by hitting a tennis ball with the racket, and we all sprint to the ball.  Whoever gets there first gets to lead an ab exercise and then they get to hit the ball.  Repeat until 6am.

Circle of Trust

Devotion is love, loyalty, or enthusiasm for a person, activity, or cause.  We talk a lot about commitment in F3, and to commit means to pledge, and thereby binding oneself to a word.  Commitment is good, because it holds the promise and gives assurance to the person or cause you wish to commit to.  Yet commitment is by word and word alone…while devotion is about the doing.  To devote means to freely give of ones time to specific cause.  As men, we should talk the talk and walk the walk.  Be the man that others rely on.  Your commitment is important, but live up to those commitments.  Be devoted, and follow through with the things you commit to.

I read a parable from the Bible, from Matthew 21: 28-30.  A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said ‘son, go work today in my vineyard.’  He answered and said ‘I will not’, but afterwards he regretted it and went.  Then the man came to the second son and said likewise, and the son answered ‘I will go sir’, but he did not go.  In this parable, the first son showed more devotion to his father.  Even though he disrespected his father in speech, he still honored him by going to the vineyard afterwards.

Naked Man Moleskin

Thanks to Foreclosure, who is an awesome siteQ.  He always gives me good tips for my Qs.  Thanks to everyone who brought extra jump ropes to share.  Thanks Hatchet and Cutler for bringing water….much needed today.  Good to see Keller coming downrange from F3 Southside.  And shoutout to Martha Stewart for coming out on his birthday to (I think) was his second workout with F3.
