Circle of Trust
I was open about how I’ve been struggling a bit these last few months with my mental well-being. My mind was shifted to the positive about two weeks ago when they referenced the phrase, “Take your eyes off the speedometer and pay attention to what direction you are heading”. It was a simple phrase that helped me to change my attitude at work, but I also brought that home. I didn’t like the amount of time that we’ve been spending together as a family. So, I saw I had an opening on Saturday (today) with no commitments. I jumped on it, bought the annual membership at Brookfield Zoo, and let everyone know where we’d be going. Although I sensed some hesitance from my teenagers, I’m happy to report that it was a wonderful afternoon with them all. The kids all got along great, we had packed lunches on the benches and even got to feed the giraffes. Awesome afternoon and I will be planning more things like that.

My main goal for today was to get our eyes off the speedometer, don’t worry about the number of reps. Simply, use great form and give your maximum effort. I can tell you I saw most of us, at one point or another, near muscle fatigue during at least one exercise. That is what I was looking for. I love these types of workouts and will do more in the future. I appreciate everyone that was able to be there this morning.
