The Thang
We rucked for 60 minutes all over the AO. Plenty of off roading to get out of the wind. Not the fastest pace given the snowy conditions. We ended up getting 2.65 miles in.
Circle of Trust
I shared that on Wednesday I texted the other members of the SLT that I thought we should cancel Friday’s workouts. My concern was the safety of the PAX. Other members of the SLT disagreed and the decision was made to keep the workouts but open up the lines of communication between all the Q’s and Site Q’s. This how I predicted the conversation would go but still thought it was the right thing to discuss. Over the weekend at my plant, we scheduled extra Technicians for each shift and advised people not to be outside for more than 15 minutes. This was my same mentality. Don’t expose yourself if you have a choice.
Sharing your view when you anticipate that it won’t be widely accepted is never the easiest. That said we should always encourage people to speak their minds as we all come from different places with different experiences. This the value of the diversity of a shared leadership team. In the end, it may not change the decision but it could spark a conversation and generate ideas that still could have an impact on the outcome.
Naked Man Moleskin
Thanks to Betty Crocker and Ozark for their fellowship and mubblechatter during the workout.
