COT:
The other day PI posted about PTSD, and its a good issue to discuss, PTSD in itself is an disorder, but it also can lead to other disorders and substance abuse, which we all know is a leading cause of Suicide. So what is PTSD- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. A disorder in which a person has difficulty recovering after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event. Many people correlate PTSD with the Military and, yes because Military Personnel are faced, especially in combat, with some fucked up situations, they tend to have a higher per capita that deal with PTSD, also in the past the military has been known to hide their PTSD issues, saying at first it wasn’t real, and you were weak if you couldn’t deal with the situation, that you were not a man, however that is a crock of shit, I lost 8 guys in Iraq, but since I have lost 10 guys to Suicide, so PTSD isn’t for the weak, but you all are tired of hearing me talk about the Military, so lets move on
Any one anywhere can suffer from PTSD, People in bad car accidents, victims of domestic violence, children who are abused mentally or physically, people who are in tornados, earth quakes, fires, any disaster, basically anyone who faces a terrifying situation, either personally or by watching it. It is important if you know someone who was involved in a terrifying situation, reach out make sure they are okay, if you know someone suffering from PTSD, even if they are getting help, reach out, be a support system for them, we can all be part of the solution!!!!!
