Introduction

I did a little evening recon and knew this morning was going to be cold and windy, with difficult AO conditions.  The normal pool lot was not plowed, so I pivoted, and asked PAX to park in the back lot at the school.  The sidewalks and trails were still covered in snow and ice.  These conditions limited options, but I knew exactly what was needed to keep the crew warm in the -14F (Actual) temperature, and was ready to get started!

I got the PAX moving with a little jogging in place while the disclaimer, core principals, and mission statement was stated. Then we got right into it.

The Thang

Thang – Pearls on a String (Crowd Sourced)

This morning our man Pull-Up was joining us and needed to mash runs.  The plan was to leave parking lot and stay on the neighborhood streets.  Each 100-150 yards or so, we would run back to Pull-Up, who was shuffling to stay warm, and did some PT

Prior to each stop, YHC appointed a PAX to be prepared to lead the group in an exercise, and rep count, of their choice.  Exercises included:

  • SSH
  • Mountain Climbers
  • LBC’s
  • Grady Corns
  • Chinooks
  • Air Squats
  • Merkins

Each man got a chance to lead as we traveled the neighborhood.

Circle of Trust

I shared a image of a wolf in my pre-blast with a saying “When the snow flies and the white wind blows, the lone wolf dies while the pack survives”.  For me, these words are so very true when it comes to F3.  There is no way I would be getting up and working out at 0530 if I were doing it alone.  My lone wolf is my motivation to continue to do hard things, and mt F3 Pack of brothers keep this alive even in the most extreme of conditions.

Naked Man Moleskin

This morning had an actual temp of -14F, with 8 PAX in the gloom, this produces a GMI of 54.  Taking the lead on the 2023-2024 GMI Google Sheet (at the time this was published).
