CoT:
- This week my CoT’s are going to be focused on character.
- Saw this quote the other day & it really stuck with me. “Worry about your character, not your reputation. Your character is who you are. Your reputation is who people think you are.” In this society of social media & “keeping up with the Joneses” people are more concerned about how people perceive them: fancy vacations, big houses, cool clothes, etc. & less about the values that represent them, or better said the things people don’t always see. Character is something that shows up in times of “high stress & limited visibility”. Do you talk about being compassionate only to yell at the person who cut you off on the highway? Do you boast about how important your wife & kids are only to spend all your energy on being the best at work? My challenge to you men is to think about what your character is made up of & then ask yourself do you actually live those qualities or only superficially pretend to live them, so people see that as your reputation? Stop worrying about what others think & focus on living you core character traits.
