Introduction
Another great opportunity to lead PAX in a creative QvQ. Happy Camper and YHC did not share any details of our plan with each other, which made this even more fun.
Warm-O-Rama
The Worm led the PAX through a few WoR exercises, then turned everyone over to Happy Camper.
The Thang
Thang 1: Ship, Captain, & Crew
Happy Camper took the PAX on a pirate adventure by using the Ship, Captain, & Crew dice game as the mechanism to generate exercises and some competition. He broke the PAX into two teams, then had them roll the five dice with the goal of rolling a 6, 5, or 4, in order, which then translated to a PAX on each team leading a 10-count exercise (curls, OHP, monkey humpers, merkins, or slow squats). If a PAX failed to roll a 6, 5, or 4, the whole team did 5 penalty burpees. Otherwise, the team progressed until rolling the last two dice in an attempt to beat the opposing team’s roll. As a reward, everyone ran a lap around the parking lot.
Thang 2: Back to School
YHC set up a ladder-style workout where PAX progressed from Kindergarten through 6th grade (see list of exercises for each grade below).
All PAX started in K, completed 5 blockees, then carried their backpack, aka coupon, on their back to the next grade. Once reaching the next grade, the PAX performed the exercise for that grade IN ADDITION TO the exercises from the previous grades (example, reaching 3rd grade a PAX would do 10 big boys, 15 coupon swings, and 20 chest press, THEN return back to K for the 5 blockees followed by graduating to 4th grade.
- 6th: 35 curls “for the girls”
- 5th: 30 OHP
- 4th: 25 squats
- 3rd: 20 chest press
- 2nd: 15 coupon “swings”
- 1st: 10 big boys
- K: 5 Blockees
After 10 mins passed, YHC then told the PAX that it was time for recess! We headed to the basketball court where we took a step back in time to when we were kids. Those days when we made up silly games to play with our friends to pass the time on those hot, summer days.
Thang 3: Foosketball
YHC used the two teams that Happy Camper had already established. Once on the bball court, each time was given four rubber footballs and provided with the following instructions:
shots can be made from anywhere on the court, anything beyond the 3-point line counted for 2-points. First team to 10 won. Winning team earned the right to choose the penalty exercise that everyone did. Eventually, altered the rules so that only shots beyond 3-point line counted and played a game that way as well.
Circle of Trust
Happy shared a great message about how words mean something and “say what you mean, mean what you say”!
Naked Man Moleskin
It was a fun morning and everyone seemed to enjoy the energy of the competition.
