Introduction
Morning was cool but very comfortable. I arrived to AO a few minutes early to double check that what I had planned would work with the number of HC’s that came in over night. To my surprise, we were going to have 19 PAX ITG this morning. About double what I was originally thinking. After my investigation, I decided it would be tight, but we are going forward as planned. On way back to flags, I saw Blue Gill warming up on the track, so I joined him for a few laps. Was nice catching up with him on his families Christmas.
Warm-O-Rama
I tried something new this morning. In order to get the men moving straight away, I starter the crew doing SSH and asked Ben Pan to help keep cadence while I did disclaimer, core principals, credo. This proved to be a bit cumbersome in reality, and I would not try this strategy again in the future.

The Thang
Thang 1 – Burpee Mile
The burpee mile is a group run where the PAX line up and move as a team. The man at the end of the line drops and does a burpee, then sprints to front of the line. This is rinsed and repeated until the team does a mile.
In our case, we needed to split into two groups. To help determine our teams, I asked that all PAX who have ever ran 13 miles or more to line up behind Vern. This split us nearly in half and was the only question needed to determined our two groups. Once split, I could see that we had PAX who were either current or were previously once site Q’s in each group. I asked Foreclosure to remain with the runners and cover their 6, and I asked 5-Putt to help pick up the SIX in the 2nd group.
The runners finished first and came back to pick up group two. We then proceeded to the bleachers for thang 2.
Thang 2 – 11’s with Catalina Wine Bleachers and Seated Leg Extensions
Catalina Wine Bleachers – PAX started in low plank at base of first bleacher seat and reached up to raise themselves to high plank above first seat, one arm at a time, in a 4-count movement, alternating leading arm with each rep.
Seated Leg Extensions – PAX sat on bleacher seat, holding their feet 6” off ground, then pulled their knees to chest.
Thang 3 – Wounded Bear Crawls
PAX Bear Crawled each row of the bleachers with one hand and one foot on low bleacher seat while the other hand and foot were on the seat above it. Bear crawl across bench to the end and do one merkin. Index up one row and return the other direction. Completing one merkin at each end. Rise and repeat until PAX went up one side of the bleachers and down the other.
PAX waiting their turn were holding a wall sit at fence. If they needed a break, they were encouraged to complete 3 burpees. PAX completing bleacher crawl would join in on the wall sits.
Thang 4 – 7’s with Irkins and Dips
Thang 5 – Burpee Half Mile
It should be noted that the runners were able to complete two laps, but the second group did one lap and returned to flag for about 15 Big Boys. At 6am, we when and picked up the runners at the track entrance and returned as a group to the flags.
Circle of Trust
The CoT is an essential part of the F3 Workout, so essential it is a core principal. This not help provide a proper closing to a beatdown, it gives us as men a chance to share. When putting together my CoT’s, I typically try to share something inspirational or motivating that I can apply to my own life in the hopes that the message can resonate with others when I share it. Last night as I reflected on this morning’s CoT, I found myself distracted with a personal challenge that made it difficult to find inspiration or motivation. I found myself forcing a message, read hiding behind it, instead of sharing what was really on my mind. Once I made this realization, I decided to share and highlight my dilemma instead of putting it aside. I have to say, there is some level of freedom in this and I would strongly recommend others try this approach.
In short, many of you know my 14YO daughter recently relocated to Florida. Its been some getting use to, but I have come to terms with the new arrangement. However, last night she asked me to spend Friday afternoon, our last day together, with some of her friends from her old home town. My natural reaction was to be possessive and selfish with “my” time and wanted to shut this down straight away. Fortunately I used restrain in my initial response, but she could see my frustration in her request as tomorrow would be the last time I will see here until mid-February. Sharing this predicament lead to different PAX reaching out to give their perspectives. Sharing their parenting challenges and offering different approaches to situations that they have personally experienced. This process confirmed that there are no right answers when it comes to parenting, but I was able to find comfort in the fact that I am not the only one who at times struggles finding the right path forward. Only time will tell how my situation will play out, but I have always parented with the understanding that the time we share isn’t “MY” time or her “MOTHERS” time, but 100% of the time is hers. I just have to find ways to keep her wanting to share it with me.

Thank you 5-Putt for the reminder to keep our CoTs intentional.
