CoT:
It’s All In the State of Mind
If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think that you dare not, you don’t,
If you’d like to win, but don’t you think you can,
It’s almost certain you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost,
For out in the world you’ll find
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind.
Think big, and your deeds will grow;
Think small, and you’ll fall behind;
Think that you can, and you will
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you are out-classed, you are;
You’ve got to think high to rise;
You’ve got to be sure of yourself
before You ever can win a prize,
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But soon or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.
Like many of you maybe right now I hated running before I got into it. I started with, “I will do this b/c I want to get in better shape but not in a million years will I run a half marathon.” Then I did a 5k & thought HMM maybe a half marathon but a lot of work to do. Then I did a half marathon but thought I will certainly never do a marathon. Then during Lincoln Games I accidently ran 18 miles. Marathon was never in my realm of thinking when I started running & now I have ambitions. Don’t sell yourself short on what you can accomplish. The mind is a powerful tool & with the right attitude I truly believe we can accomplish anything we set our minds to. Set a goal for yourself & go get it!
