Introduction

Woke up around 4:20 and was feeling good leaving the house at 4:50 to get to the Ridge in plenty of time to get everything set up. Rolled up into the parking lot at saw 4 other vehicles.  Instantly remembered that we start Black Diamonds at 5 dummy.  Thankfully set up was pretty minimal and we were ready to roll at 5.

Circle of Trust

During AAR I gave my COT we has definitely out of order but I thought appropriate.  I shared with the group that I was having problems going to the bathroom this morning.  My original plan had us doing an Indian run around the park but I knew this would have ended badly for me.  As I was leaving I had the idea to lengthen out the 22’s.  My original plan was 22’s with coupon squats and tuck jumps between the parking lot and the top of the hill and to increase/decrease by 4’s.  To lengthen the time without the Indian run I added the two other stations and changed the rep increase/decrease to 2.  No one knew the difference and the timing worked out great.

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and we need to be prepared to adapt quickly to changes.  Stay calm, think fast, and just do the best you can do.

I was rucking with Blue Gill after the workout telling him the story.  I didn’t think about this during COT but did when we were talking.  If that was my second Q, I would have been up a creek.  I would have completely freaked out and it would have been an absolute poop show.  Having Q’d over 100 times, I’ve prepared myself to be ready for the unexpected.  This is a core principle of F3 and stressed in Q Source.  Preparedness.  Why do we do the stupid stuff we do each morning?  It’s absolutely to help us be physically and mentally prepared for the stuff we can’t predict in life.  AYE!
