Introduction
Busy at work and didn’t notice the light HC’s throughout the day until I started receiving texts from some PAX.
Wasn’t sure if it was cause of the holidays, the cold, guys still recovering from RDG, or mentioning Bear Crawls in my preblast.
By the morning we had a good number of HC’s.

Circle of Trust
Today is my oldest son’s 21st birthday.
Growing up my son struggled selective mutism. For those that don’t know what that is, he just wouldn’t talk to anyone other than his immeidate family, his siblings, my wife and myself. He wouldn’t/couldn’t speak to his grandparents, uncles/aunts, wouldn’t speak in school. It was really tough, the worst part was that we didn’t notice it until in preschool. We asked pediatricians for help and all they said was that it was normal and he’d grow out of it. We finally got the help and tools needed when we found a specialist that worked with kids with selective mutism. It was a long hard journey for us, more for him. He finally started speaking at around 8th grade, and even then it was difficult for him to do. Fast forward to today, he’s still a bit quiet and shy but he’s grown leaps and bounds to where he once was. He’s in college, he works part time and even has a girlfriend (we thought he would struggle with this one!)
When I designed the boot camp I knew it was going to be a struggle to get through it. Towards the end of the BC Dear Abby told me we had 5 minutes to Mary, I was just about to start my bear crawl towards station 6, near the far end of the parking lot and thought, we can circle up and I won’t have to do this bear crawl. But then I thought about how long my son struggled with talking and decided to finish the bear crawl regardless of how much of a struggle it would be for me.
I wanted to dedicate this BC to him, Happy Birthday Son, I love you!
